D/FW Airport endures rain freight train

I'd post the radar image but it would be dated pretty quickly, but believe me when I tell you that the core of this tropical storm remnant is currently running over the top of the world's third-busiest airport (by flights).
Flightstats.com, ever the up-to-date source on delays, had D/FW as a "green" airport when I checked around 8 a.m. this morning. It's now dead red with the highest delay factor on their chart ("excessive") and I don't blame them. Not sure if they've halted operations because of lightning on the property, because a lot of this rain has T-storms in it. Any lightning in the area halts ground operations for safety.
Update 10:57: D/FW's David Magana says the FAA held traffic inbound to D/FW on the ground at other airports because of the tough weather, and that's likely to cascade through the rest of the schedule going forward today. Magana notes that D/FW had a "clean" day with the heavy rains on Tuesday; today probably won't be so fortunate.
Bottom line: it's a mess at D/FW, so plan accordingly. Dallas Love Field is showing better conditions - it's out of the worst of the rain.
